Surprise, it’s a Snake in the Wet Bay

In the glamorous world of RV living, there's a tail no RVer wants to encounter; it's just too rattling. You know the startling surprise that comes in through the unassuming hole in the wet bay designated for our sewer hose.

Yes, that tiny ish opening, we diligently close during travel and also in chilly temperatures to keep our bays and pipes cozy. Little did we know, this portal to our RV's underworld was an open invitation for critters of the slithering persuasion. Cue the dramatic music and entrance of snakes. Eeks, yuck, ooh indeed!

Now, let me introduce you to a $3 solution that not only fends off these uninvited guests but also adds a touch of DIY charm to your RV arsenal. Stainless steel scrubbers – those trusty kitchen companions – become the unsung heroes in our battle against nature's most determined infiltrators. It turns out they make a fantastic barrier when strategically placed around the hose opening, leaving snakes and the like out and us free from those heart-stopping encounters. It's a $3 investment that pays off in peace of mind and fewer pants-peeing moments.

I can't help but appreciate the irony of nature falling head over heels for our mobile haven. First, it was mice, and now, snakes. The RV, it seems, is a Noah's Ark for critters on the go. In a world where cats might seem like the perfect solution, I am still a "hard no" on the feline option. After all, stainless steel scrubbers are the unsung heroes here, and they don't shed.

And now, if you're done chuckling at the thought of a snake in our basement and admiring the sewer hose stand in the photo, I'll tell you I like them. They are Camco Adjustable Sewer Hose Drain Support Kit, a sturdy and reliable companion in the world of sewage management. It adapts to a 10ft, 15ft, or 20ft sewer hose kit with its rigid support cradles and four-point adjustment that conquers even the most uneven terrains. It's a sewer hose stand that doesn't just stand; it conquers.

FYI - I have zero afflictions with these products and make $0. Just sharing what we’ve found to work after RVing full-time for nearly four years.

Yes, I know what you're thinking: "$3 for snake defense and $85 for sewer hose supremacy – is it worth it?" The answer, my fellow RV enthusiast, is an unequivocal yes! In the whimsical world of RV living, where every turn brings a new adventure, surprises should be limited to awe-inspiring landscapes, not hissing companions under the bay door.

Here's to sewer hoses standing tall, stainless steel scrubbers guarding our sanctuaries, and a resounding "no" to slithering surprises. As we navigate the highways and byways in our rolling oasis, let's embrace the absurdity of RV life, one critter-defying solution at a time. Cheers to a snake-free and laughter-filled journey ahead!
